The foundations of any social media marketing are that in order to be seen, you need to be present. And in being present you need to be informative, relevant and interesting for your audience.
Without a presence, there is no audience. Without an audience, you can’t create brand awareness, drive web traffic, generate sales etc. These foundations are the building blocks to successful social media ad campaigns, brand credibility and social media that truly works.
Don’t cut corners. Don’t try and ‘beat the algorithm’ (you won’t) – work with it. It’s not as complicated as you think. Your posts will be shown to people who are interested in you. They express their interest by engaging with your content (reactions, comments). You need to create content that is interesting to your target audience. Simple as that.
The biggest barrier for most businesses is finding the time, knowing what to post, and knowing where to start.
If this is you, I would recommend participating in an Instagram challenge. They tend to be between 10-30 days, with a question/topic for you to post about each day. There’s tons of them out there (just Google them or search #instagramchallenge on Instagram). Even if Instagram is not your main platform, it’s a good way to get you into the habit of posting regularly about you and your business, in order to build up an engaged following.
