It’s easy to get carried away when posting on your business platforms and forget about who your audience really is. If you want to use social media to grow your business, here’s the top 3 things you need to remember:
👎 Don’t make it all about yourself. Vary your content, share tips / advice / news that is relevant to your audience. If there is nothing in it for them, they will switch off pretty quick.
👎 Don’t just post and go. Social media is a 2-way thing. If you don’t engage with people or respond to comments you will hit a dead end.
👎 Don’t choose platforms just because you like them. Choose platforms where your customers are. I recently came across an organisation who chose Twitter as their only platform. Their customers aren’t on it (they’re on Facebook). They know this. They sent them all a letter with instructions of how to set up a Twitter account just so they can follow them. I don’t need to tell you how this story will end 🤦🏻♀️
Most of all don’t be scared. Test different things and keep at it.
